SMS Summer camps

Training with the next generation on xc ski racer is something that I think is hugely important. As a youngster I came to Stratton and participated in the youth camp as well as the Junior camp and it was a major factor in motivating me to take on ski racing full time and attend SMS to train. 

Thats why every year I try to make it home to VT in time to train with the SMS summer camps. This year they were a big success with over 60 BKYSL kids on roller-skis during the youth camp, and 4 days of intense training for the Junior kids. I was able to train with the kids during each camp and work on some technique and hard skiing with the 19 and under ages. After seeing the talent first hand I am more than confident about the next wave of cross-country skiers making their way out of New England.

Since the end of the camps I have made my way back to Park City Utah where I will be taking part in some more altitude training before heading to another US Ski Team camp in Sun Valley. This is the time of year when we really start to amp up the training and begin to train more hard interval sessions. So the intensity will be high for the next few weeks!
