Speaking with kids out in front of the Vermont State House
it’s been a good week here in VT with a lot going on and a decent amount of training going down on my end. I’ve been putting in a lot of long easy distance workouts and also working a lot of long hours up in Weston working on the cabin. We had one day last weekend where it was myself, Ethan, Ryan, and korpi just throwing up boards as fast as we could. we had the music blasting, generator running, air compressor firing, and a lot of yelling… just like the good old days on the Foster construction crew. still no pictures of the place but trust me it’s not looking good up there right now. the white trash forest grows daily and is now made up of a few more old mattresses, broken TVs, 3 propane tanks, and old gas stove, and the skull of an old 8 point buck that we pulled off the roof.
yesterday was a busy day in which I headed up to Montpelier to meet Liz and the Governor and talk with a huge group of kids out in front of the state house. We were there to support the Governors Council on physical fitness and sports and talk to a big group of kids about getting out every day for at least 60 minutes of exercise and eating healthy. Vermont Governor Douglas is very involved in Vermont’s Obesity Prevention program and takes a lot of pride in having the nations healthiest student population for the 3rd year in a row!
With everything going on this past week I even found time to get my baby back! yup, after spending nearly 5 months in the shop getting new drag bars, carb mounts, rear tire, chain, and a list of new parts nearly 2 pages long…. I got my pride and joy back home safely. picture below.
